Hadrian, 117-138. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 34 mm, 23.86 g), Rome, 119-circa mid 120. IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. PONT MAX TR POT COS III / S C Roma seated left on cuirass, right foot set on helmet, holding Victory in her right hand and spear in her left; behind, shield set on ground. BMC 1148. Cohen 1187 corr. (obverse legend). RIC 254. Beautiful light green patina and with an excellent early portrait. Thin flan crack and with a light scratch and a scrape on the reverse and minor breaks in patina on the edge, otherwise, extremely fine.
