Trajan, 98-117. Aureus (Gold, 19 mm, 7.28 g, 7 h), Rome, 101-102. IMP CAES NERVA TRAIAN AVG GERM Laureate head of Trajan to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. P•M•TR•P•COS•IIII•P•P Hercules, nude and wearing lion skin headdress, standing facing on low base, holding club in his right hand and apples and lion skin in his left. BMC 84. Calicó 1053a. A few minor marks and with a small nick at seven o’clock on obverse and a light scrape on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
