LESBOS. Mytilene. Circa 412-378 BC. Hekte (Electrum, 11 mm, 2.61 g, 1 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with spirals and palmettes. Rev. Head of Artemis-Kybele to right, wearing stephane decorated with palmettes; all within linear square within incuse square. Bodenstedt 73 (dies a/α). HGC 6, 999. SNG Berry 1008 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen 318. SNG von Aulock 7736 (same dies). Very well centered, with a beautiful rendering of Athena. Minor flatness and faint scratches on the reverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
