CARPATHIAN REGION. Uncertain tribe. Circa 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 13.58 g, 6 h), 'Audoleon monogram' type, imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to right, raising his left hand; below horse, stylized Audoleon monogram; before, lyre-shaped ornament; above and to right, zigzag ornaments. CCCBM I 124 (same dies). Dembski 1343 (same obverse die). Flesche 563 (same obverse die). Lanz 723. OTA 429/1. Beautifully toned and well struck on sound metal, a splendid, perfectly centered example. A few faint marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
