INDIA, Early northern trade coinage. Narhan-Chirand-Muzaffarpur culture. Circa 440-400 BC. 32 Mashakas (Silver, 25 mm, 6.64 g). Cut ingot with punchmarks: pellet-in-crescents back-to-back with ray and crescent flanking; all within incuse circle; numerous small punches around, among them an elephant. Rev. Blank. Cf.
