PHOENICIA. Arados. Circa 138/7-44/3 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31 mm, 15.20 g, 12 h), CY 171 = 89/8 BC. Turreted, veiled and draped bust of Tyche to right. Rev. APAΔIΩN Nike standing front, head to left, holding aphlaston in her right hand and palm frond over her left shoulder; to left, AΟΡ above 'H' (in Phoenician) above ΜΣ; all within laurel wreath. BMC 227. Duyrat 3422-32. HGC 10, 72. Nicely toned and struck on a broad flan. Light marks and with minor areas of horn silver, otherwise, very fine.
