ATTICA. Athens. Circa 165-42 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 17.07 g, 12 h), circa 165-150/49. Head of Athena Parthenos to right, wearing triple-crested Attic helmet adorned with Pegasos and long tendril on the bowl, and with the foreparts of four horses above the visor. Rev. Α-ΘΕ Owl standing facing on amphora; to left, trophy; to right, two monograms; all within laurel wreath. Thompson 37. Nicely toned and of fine early style. Struck slightly off center and with faint scratches, otherwise, very fine.
