Histamenon (Gold, 24 mm, 4.44 g, 6 h), Constantinopolis. +IҺS XIS RЄX RЄGNANTIҺM Christ Pantokrator seated facing on throne, holding book of Gospels in his left hand and raising his right in blessing. Rev. ΘCЄ bOHΘ RωMAҺω On the left, Romanus III standing facing, wearing crown and loros, holding globus cruciger with his left hand; on the right, the Virgin, nimbate and wearing robes, crowing the emperor with her right hand and holding maphorion in her left; above, MΘ. DOC 1d. SB 1819. Small scratch on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
