PRO[VIDENT AV]G Providentia standing front with legs crossed, head to left, leaning left elbow on column, holding wand over globe in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. RIC 91. RIC V online 288. Venèra 7888-965. Heavily double struck and with a surface crack on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.


A double strike such as this occurs when, after the first clean impression, the coin is not fully removed from the anvil die and is accidentally struck a second time, noticeably off-centered.
