Victorinus, Romano-Gallic Emperor, 269-271. Antoninianus (Bronze, 22 mm, 5.33 g, 12 h), Treveri, circa late 269-mid 270. IMP C VICTORIN[VS P F A]VG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Victorinus to right. Rev. [INV]ICTVS Sol advancing left, raising his right hand in salute and holding whip in his left; in field to left, star. AGK (corr.) 9b. Cunetio 2534. Elmer 683 ('Cologne'). RIC V.4 521. Struck on an exceptionally heavy flan. Some traces of corrosion and minor deposits, otherwise, nearly very fine.


The coin’s doubled weight and thick rim indicate that it was likely struck by mistake on two flans stacked together.
