Domitian, as Caesar, 69-81. Denarius (Subaeratus, 19 mm, 3.40 g, 6 h), a contemporary plated imitation. Irregular mint, after 81. IMP CAES DOMITIANVS AVG P M Laureate head of Domitian to right. Rev. TR P COS VII DES VIII P P Minerva advancing right, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield in her left. Cf. Cohen 58 and RIC 58 (for prototype). Nicely toned and well centered on a broad flan. Light doubling on the obverse and minor breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
