Lot 2154
Crispus, Caesar, 316-326. Follis (Bronze, 19 mm, 1.95 g, 6 h), Antiochia, July 325 (?). Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Crispus to left. Rev. CRISPVS / CAESAR / SMANTЄ in three lines; above, star. RIC 53. Somewhat rough and with minor traces of cleaning on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Capitolina Collection, ex Münzzentrum Rheinland 196, 21 September 2022, 543.

For most dynastic bronze emissions from Antioch, Bruun misread many of the officina letters. In fact, it were officinae B and Є that struck for Crispus, the same two officinae that struck for his father.
