Diocletian, 284-305. Antoninianus (Bronze, 24 mm, 3.47 g, 12 h), Treveri, mid-end 293. DIOCLETIANVS P F AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right, seen from behind. Rev. VOT X M XX / PTR Victory advancing left on globe, holding wreath in her right hand and palm frond in her left. Cahn 77. Cohen 536 corr. (bust type). Estiot/Zanchi 49. RIC 125 corr. (bust type). Very rare. Slightly rough and with minor traces of corrosion, otherwise, good very fine.

The tetrarchic antoniniani from Trier are all very rare. They were minted shortly before Diocletian’s monetary reform in 294.
