Diocletian, 284-305. Denarius (Bronze, 18 mm, 2.10 g, 12 h), Rome, circa 291. IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right. Rev. VIRTVS AVGG Hercules standing front, head to left, holding club set on ground in his right hand and globe in his left, lion skin draped over his left arm. Cohen -. Hunter -. RIC -. Apparently unpublished save for its previous auction appearance. Slightly rough and with minor deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
