Diocletian, 284-305. Sestertius (Bronze, 25 mm, 3.73 g, 12 h), Rome, 286-287. IMP DIOCLETIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right, seen from behind. Rev. IOVI CONSERVAT AVGG / Δ Jupiter standing front, head to right, holding long scepter in his right hand and thunderbolt in his left; at his feet to left, eagle standing left, head to right, holding wreath in beak. Cohen -. Hunter -. RIC -. Voetter, Kupferprägung -. Apparently unpublished and unique. Slightly smoothed and with minor traces of corrosion and deposits, otherwise, nearly very fine.
