IONIA. Ephesus. Anonymous, 2nd-3rd centuries. Tessera (Lead, 16 mm, 2.69 g, 3 h). Boar's head to right. Rev. Punch showing shell and floral patterns. Apparently unpublished, but cf. Boersema/Dalzell, Vossen coll. 59, Leu 16 (2021), 3220 and 3221 (for general tessera types with a boar's head), and Leu Web Auction 32 (2024), 1176 (for a tessera from Asia Minor that was also struck with a punch). A charming tessera of fine style with an intricate reverse design. About extremely fine.
