LOCAL ISSUES, Sogdiana. Principality of Kesh. Phseigacharis, circa mid 1st-early 2nd century AD. Hemiobol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.39 g, 12 h). Bust of Phseigacharis to right, wearing headdress adorned with a plume. Rev. Herakles standing facing, resting his right hand on a club and holding lion-skin in his left; nimbus(?) around his head; to right and left, ‘ΦΣΕΙ[ΓΑ – ΧAPΙΣ]’ (‘Phseigacharis’ in Greek in square script). Mitchiner 2833. Extremely rare and beautifully preserved. Minor edge chipping, otherwise, good very fine.
