The bust of Muhammad Reza Shah to left; Pahlavi crown behind head; before head, ‘aʾlā hazrat Mohammad Rezā Shāh-e Pahlavī ārīyāmehr shāhanshāh-e Irān’ (‘His Imperial Majesty Muhammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, Sun of the Aryans [and] King of Kings of Iran’ in Persian); around, ‘Mohamad Reza Pahlavi. Shahanshah of Iran.’ (in English). Rev. An open book resting on the globe; on the left page, ‘Initiator / of the World / Anti-Illiteracy / Campaign’ (in English); on the right page, ‘mobtaker-e mobāreze / bā bīsavādī / dar jahān’ (‘Initiator of the Campaign against Illiteracy in the World’ in Persian); above, a coat of arms featuring a crown at the top, flanked on either side by a lion bearing a sword, with various emblems displayed within the shield; to right and left, ‘kongere-ye jahānī shahrīvar māh-e / 1344 Tehrān’ (‘World Congress, the Month of Shahrivar, 1344, Tehran’ in Persian); around, ‘World. Council. on. Illiteracy. Tehran. 8.9.1965.’ (in English); numbers 900 and 1000 written in both English and Persian on the globe. Nicely toned. In CCG encapsulation, graded AU 58. Very minor scratches, otherwise, extremely fine.
