In the center, ‘lā ilāha illā Allāh / Muḥammad / rasūl Allāh’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah’ in Arabic); around, in the form of a square, traces of the names of the four Rashidun Caliphs, ‘be sedq-e Abī Bakr / be adl-e Omar / be hayāʾ-e Osmān / be elm-e Alī’ (‘By the truthfulness of Abubakr, by the justice of ʿUmar, by the modesty of ʿUthman, by the knowledge of ʿAli’ in Persian). Rev. In the center, ‘Jalāl al-Dīn Muḥammad Akbar pādeshāh-e Qāzī 988’ (‘The Holy Warrior King Jalal al-Din Muhammad Akbar. 988’ in Persian); above, ‘khallada Allāh taʿālā mulkahū’ (‘May Allah, the Exalted, perpetuate his kingdom’ in Arabic); below, ‘zarb-e Ordū Zafar Qarīn’ (‘Struck in Urdu Zafar Qarin’ in Persian). KM 82.8. Beautifully toned. A die crack on the reverse and minor deposits, otherwise, extremely fine.
