GEORGIA. Kingdom. T’amar, Queen Regnant, 1184-1213. AE (Copper, 27 mm, 6.58 g, 9 h), AD 1200. A Royal(?) symbol resembling a military standard; to left and right, Mkhedruli abbreviations for ‘Tʿamar’ (Tamar) and her second husband ‘Davitʿ’ (David); in the corners, the Georgian ecclesiastical letters ‘Kʿ / K / Vi / K’, that is, the year 420 of the Paschal cycle (corresponding to AD 1200). Rev. Within a dotted circle, ‘malika al-malikāt / Jalāl al-Dunyā wa al-Dīn / Tāmār ibnah Kīyūrkī / ẓahīr al-Masīḥ’ (‘Queen of Queens, Glory of the World and the Religion, Tamar daughter of Giorgi, supporter of the Messiah’ in Arabic); a countermark made up of the Georgian ecclesiastical letter D, together with a symbol resembling the Arabic letter S. Lang 11. Some deposits and a tiny flan fault on the edge, otherwise, very fine.
