PAULATIM Seated ape riding on a crab, holding apple in left and mirror in right hand; below SENAT•ET•XVI•VIRI•STAT • / EXTER•BERN• / 1765•. Rev. LUDENS FIT APTIOR Orator in Roman attire standing on a pedestal and crowned by Mercury, addresses five listeners, also dressed in Roman attire; below TAT - IUX. Haller 794. SM 638. Beautifully toned. Minor marks, otherwise, extremely fine.

From the collection of Kurt Zimmermann (* 1937) of Winterthur, long-serving numismatist at Schweizerische Kreditanstalt and Leu Numismatik, privately acquired from Erwin Dietrich in February 1967.
