CENTRAL GAUL. Sequani. Togirix, circa mid 1st century BC. Quinarius (Silver, 15 mm, 1.97 g, 12 h). TOGIRIX Celticized head of Roma to left. Rev. TOGI[RIX] Horse springing left; below, stylized serpent. DT 3248. LT 5550. Beautifully toned and with an excellent pedigree. Minor areas of weakness, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of Kurt Zimmermann (* 1937) of Winterthur, long-serving numismatist at Schweizerische Kreditanstalt and Leu Numismatik, from the Gottlieb Wüthrich Collection (1879-1946), Münzen & Medaillen AG 47, 30 November-1 December 1972, 261, and from that of Félicien de Saulcy (1807-1880), Cahn 81, 5 April 1933, 1596.
