A beautifully toned tetradrachm from Kyme

AEOLIS. Kyme. Circa 155-143 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.48 g, 12 h), Kallias, magistrate, circa 143/2. Diademed head of the Amazon Kyme to right. Rev. KYMAIΩN - KAΛΛIAΣ Horse prancing right; below raised foreleg, one-handled cup; all within laurel wreath. E-E&E-Ö, Phase III, 31-2 (same obverse die). Oakley obv. die 19. SNG Copenhagen 103. SNG von Aulock 1636. Beautifully toned. A few tiny deposits on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.

Ex Leu 17, 31 May 2025, 181 and previously privately acquired from Tradart in 1988.
