ATTICA. Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 27 mm, 17.19 g, 8 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig and crescent; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1597. Kroll 8. Svoronos pls. 12-17 passim. Slight die shift on the reverse, otherwise, nearly very fine.

From the collection of Dipl.-Ing. Caspar Reinhart of Winterthur, Civil Engineer and Secretary General of the Swiss Association of Engineers and Architects from 1988 to 1996, assembled between the 1950s and 1980s largely through private acquisitions from Dr. F. Sternberg.
