Diocletian, 284-305. Antoninianus (Bronze, 24 mm, 3.20 g, 12 h), Rome, 286-287. IMP DICLETIANVS (sic!) AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Diocletian to right, seen from behind. Rev. IOVI CONSERVAT AVGG / XXIΔ Jupiter standing front, head to left, holding thunderbolt in his right hand and long scepter in his left. Cohen 237 var. RIC 162 var. Venèra -. Very rare with this interesting obverse spelling error. Somewhat smoothed and faint cleaning scratches and the reverse struck from a worn die, otherwise, good fine.
