IMP C M AVR PROBVS P F AVG Radiate, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Probus to left, holding spear in his right hand over his right shoulder and shield, decorated with emperor on horseback to right over two fallen enemies, with his left; on cuirass, gorgoneion. Rev. Blank. Somewhat rough, otherwise, very fine.



This mint error occurred when an unstruck flan became lodged in the reverse die, much as brockages occur when a struck coin adheres to the die, leaving an incuse impression of its design on the following coin.
