Lot 1958
Trebonianus Gallus, 251-253. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 3.30 g), uniface mint error, Rome (?), circa 252-253. Blank. Rev. PAX AETERNA Pax standing front, head to left, holding olive branch in her right hand and long scepter in her left. Cf. Cohen 76 and RIC 71. Lightly toned. Very light deposits on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.

This mint error occurred when an unstruck flan became lodged in the obverse die, much as brockages occur when a struck coin adheres to the die, leaving an incuse impression of its design on the following coin.
