Gallienus, 253-268. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 30 mm, 14.84 g, 12 h), Rome, 255-256. [I]MP C P LIC GALLIENVS P F AVG Laureate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right. Rev. [VI]RTVS AVGG / S - C Virtus standing front, head to left, holding spear in her left hand and placing her right on shield set on ground. Cohen 1298. MIR 83s. RIC 249. An attractive example with a wonderful portrait and a lovely light green patina. Small breaks in patina on the edge and with minor roughness on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
