Very rare with the recut star

Elagabalus, 218-222. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.77 g, 12 h), Rome, 221. IMP ANTONINVS PIVS AVG Laureate and draped bust of Elagabalus to right, wearing 'horn' over forehead. Rev. P M TR P IIII COS III P P Elagabalus standing front, head to left, holding patera in his right hand and branch in his left; to left, lighted and garlanded altar; in field to left, star; in field to right, remains of an erased star. BMC 257 and pl. 90, 13. Cohen -. Eauze 350. RIC -, cf. 46 (one star). Thirion 181. Very rare and with beautiful old collection toning. A few faint marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.

The reverse die was apparently recut to erase the star in the right field.
