Privately acquired from Divus Numismatik.

The Pisidian city of Timbriada struck coins only sporadically. Its first issue dates to the reign of Hadrian, followed by a Severan emission - to which our coin belongs - and a few rare final emissions under Severus Alexander, Maximinus I, and Valerian I. The Severan emission comprises coins of Septimius Severus, Julia Domna, Caracalla as Augustus, and Geta as Caesar. The light beard on Caracalla’s portraits, together with the absence of Plautilla, suggests a date between 205 and 209.
