HUNNIC TRIBES, Western Turks. Yabghu of the Bactrians, circa 650-700. Drachm (Silver, 34 mm, 3.56 g, 3 h), Zabulistan(?). Draped Sasanian-style bust to right, wearing an elaborate crown topped by buffalo’s head; behind head, ‘nyck MLKA’ = ‘Nēzak šāh’ (‘Nezak King’ in deteriorated Pahlavi); before head, illegible word in Pahlavi; in the outer margins, three tamghas in crescents. Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; above altar, star and crescent; to left, illegible date(?) in Pahlavi; to right, deteriorated mint name in Pahlavi. Vondrovec, Type 266. Struck from worn dies and with some doubling and scratches, otherwise, good very fine.
