Draped bust of Ardashir III to right, wearing an elaborate mural crown with two wings; behind head, ‘ʾp̄zwn’ (‘increase’ in Pahlavi); before head, ‘ʾrthštr’ = ‘Ardaxšīr’ (‘Ardashir’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; above altar, star and crescent; to left, date in Pahlavi; to right, ‘LD’ = ‘Ray’ (‘Rayy’ in Pahlavi). Göbl type II/1. Minor doubling and with some crystallization and horn silver, otherwise, good very fine.
