Draped bust of Bahram V to right, wearing an elaborate crown with a great korymbos in crescent on top; two ribbons rising from behind the crescent; to left and right, ‘mzdysn bgy – wlhl’n MLKAn [MLKA]’ = ‘mazdēsn bay Wahrām šāhān šāh’ (‘The Mazda-worshipping Lord Bahram, King of Kings’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar with ribbons, flanked by two attendants; to right and left, ‘ʾtwl – [wlhlʾn]’ = ‘ādur Wahrām’ (‘Fire of Bahram’ in Pahlavi); to the left of the flames, ‘GWL’ (abbreviation for the name of the mint in Pahlavi); on the altar shaft, ‘lʾst’ = ‘rāst’ (‘true’ in Pahlavi).
