LYDIA. Tripolis. Commodus, as Caesar, 166-177. Oktassarion (Bronze, 37 mm, 23.55 g, 6 h), circa 176-177. ΑΥΤ ΚΑΙϹ Λ ΑΥΡ ΚΟΜΟΔΟϹ Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Commodus to right, seen from behind. Rev. ΤΡΙΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ Dionysos standing front, head to right, placing his right hand on his head and being supported by satyr to right, holding bunch of grapes in his left hand; to left, panther standing left, head turned back to right. GRPC Lydia -. RPC IV.2 online 17452.1 (this coin). Apparently unique. A beautiful coin, with a lovely portrait and a very interesting reverse. Minor deposits, otherwise, good very fine.
