Philip I, 244-249. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 3.16 g, 6 h), Rome, 244-245. IMP M IVL PHILIPPVS AVG Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Philip I to right, seen from behind. Rev. SALVS AVGG Salus standing right, holding serpent with her right hand and patera in her left. Cohen -. Eauze 782 (one specimen). RIC 47A and pl. 5, 7 (same reverse die). Lightly toned. Extremely rare. Somewhat rough and with minor areas of weakness, otherwise, good very fine.

This type, with the reverse legend 'SALVS AVGG' instead of the much more common 'SALVS AVG', is one of the great rarities in Philip's silver series.
