A beautifully toned tetradrachm of Ptolemy I of excellent style

PTOLEMAIC KINGS OF EGYPT. Ptolemy I Soter, As satrap, 323-305 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 28 mm, 15.79 g, 12 h), Ptolemaic standard, Alexandria, circa 306-300. Diademed head of the deified Alexander III to right, with horn of Zeus Ammon above his ear, wearing elephant skin headdress and aegis around his neck; small Δ on aegis. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Athena Alkidemos advancing right, brandishing spear with her right hand and holding shield in her left; to right, Corinthian helmet to right over monogram of ΑΧ and eagle standing right on thunderbolt. CPE 69. SNG Copenhagen 28. Svoronos 162. A beautifully toned example of excellent style without the usual reverse graffito. Thin flan crack, otherwise, extremely fine.
