Marcus Aurelius, as Caesar, 139-161. Aureus (Gold, 20 mm, 7.28 g, 6 h), Rome, 147-148. AVRELIVS CAESAR AVG PII F Bare-headed and draped bust of Marcus Aurelius to right. Rev. TR POT II COS II Fides standing front, head to right, holding grain ears in her right hand and basket of fruit in her raised left. BMC -, cf. 640 (denarius) and 641 (bust seen from behind). Calicó 1928. Cohen 606. RIC -, cf. 440 (differing bust types). Extremely rare with this bust type. An attractive piece with a particularly fine portrait. Minor traces of mounting, otherwise, about extremely fine.
