A very rare city view medal from Bern from the collection of Gottlieb Wüthrich

SWITZERLAND. Bern, after 1741. Medal (Silver, 42 mm, 24.21 g, 12 h), by J. Dassier. RESPUBLICA - BERNESIS. Crowned coat-of-arms flanked by the personifications of wealth, on the left, holding cornucopiae and jewelry, and charity, on the right, holding infant in her right arm and leading a child with her left hand. Rev. View of the city as seen from the southeast, with the Bern Minster and the minster platform on the left and the Mattequartier on the right; above, in the clouds, two Genii holding crowned coat-of-arms; in exergue, BERNA between palmettes. SM 549. Wunderly 1356. Wüthrich 401 (this example). Very rare and beautifully toned. Good very fine.
