Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. Cistophorus (Silver, 25 mm, 11.83 g, 1 h), Ephesus, circa 25-20 BC. IMP•CAESAR Bare head of Augustus to right. Rev. AVGVSTVS Six grain ears tied together. Banti & Simonetti 319/19 (this coin). RIC 481. RPC I 2214. Sutherland Group VI, 311a (O87/R36). A lovely and well pedigreed example, beautifully toned and struck on a very broad flan. Nearly extremely fine.
