Draped bust of Bahram I to right, wearing a radiate crown with a great korymbos on top; two ribbons rising from behind head; the symbol of ‘frawahr’, the guardian spirit of kingship and the emblem of the royal treasury, above the ribbons; along the dotted rim running anticlockwise from 11 h to 1 h, portions lost where the edge is broken away, ‘mzdysn bgy wrhrʾn MRKAn MRKA ʾyrʾn W ʾnyrʾn MNW ctry MN yzdʾn’ = ‘mazdēsn bay Wahrām šāhān šāh Ērān ud Anērān kē čihr az yazadān’ (‘The Mazda-worshipping Lord, Bahram, King of Kings of the Iranians and Non-Iranians, whose essence is from the gods’ in Pahlavi). Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants, wearing different crowns, the left with a korymbos crown and the right with a mural crown; to right and left, ‘NWRA ZY ˗ wrhrʾn’ = ‘ādur Wahrām’ (‘Fire of Bahram’ in Pahlavi).
