KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.11 g, 12 h), Magnesia ad Maeandrum, circa 282-225. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram of MP above horse to right; maeander pattern in exergue. Price 2004. Rare and in unusually fine condition for the issue. Very minor edge marks, otherwise, good very fine.
