EGYPT. Alexandria. Trajan, 98-117. Drachm (Bronze, 36 mm, 21.25 g, 11 h), RY 12 = 108/9. ΑΥΤ ΤΡΑΙΑΝ ϹЄΒ ΓЄΡΜ ΔΑΚΙΚ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Trajan to right, seen from behind. Rev. L IB Trajan driving quadriga of elephants to right, holding eagle-tipped scepter in his left hand and branch in his right; above, Nike flying left, holding wreath. Dattari (Savio) 775. RPC III 4297.1. Extremely rare, only two examples recorded by RPC. A beautiful piece with a very attractive portrait. Light porosity and with a few faint scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
