THRACE. Byzantium. Faustina Junior, Augusta, 147-175. Tetrassarion (Bronze, 27 mm, 11.24 g, 2 h), Aelius Severus, hieromnemon, 164-169. ΦΑΥϹΤΕΙΝΑ ϹΕΒΑϹΤΗ Draped bust of Faustina Junior to right. Rev. [Ε]ΠΙ ΑΙΛ ϹΕΥΗΡOΥ ΒΥΖ[Α]ΝΤΙΩΝ Dolphin between two tunnies: the upper one to left, the lower one to right. RPC IV.1 online 3907. Schönert-Geiss, Byzantion 1420 (V69/R102). Varbanov 1689 corr. (reverse description). Extremely rare. Attractive brown patina and a fine portrait. Some minor roughness , otherwise, good very fine.
