AEOLIS. Myrina. Circa 188-170. Tetradrachm (Silver, 35 mm, 15.49 g, 12 h), posthumous issue in the name and types of Alexander III 'the Great' of Macedon. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; in field to left, monogram of MYP above amphora. Price 1659. Lovely iridescent toning. Minor marks and traces of old cleaning, otherwise, good very fine.
