Theodoros, imperial protospatharios and komes of Opsikion, 2nd half 8th-1st half 9th century. Seal (Lead, 27 mm, 9.25 g, 12 h). Cruciform monogram ΘЄOTOKЄ BOHΘЄI; in quadrants, TⲰ - CⲰ / Δ૪-ΛⲰ ("Mother of God, help your servant"). Rev. [+Θ]ЄOΔO/[P]Ⲱ B’A’CΠ’ / S KOM’ T૪ / [O]ΨIKI૪ in four lines. Unpublished in the standard references. Minor striking weakness and breakage on the channel mouth, otherwise, good very fine.


As komes, Theodoros was the commander of the Opsikion theme (province), which comprised territories in north-western Asia Minor, with a topoteretes as a second in command.
