Apparently unpublished with this interesting reverse legend spelling error
Lot 1656
Gallienus, 253-268. Antoninianus (Silver, 22 mm, 3.26 g, 6 h), Rome, 253-254. IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG Radiate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus to right. Rev. LAETITIA AVG N (sic!) Laetitia standing front, head to left, holding wreath in her right hand and anchor with her left. Cohen -. MIR -, cf. 46v (LAETITIA AVGG). RIC -, cf. 144 (LAETITIA AVGG). Apparently unpublished with this interesting reverse legend spelling error. Somewhat porous and with minor deposits and a thin flan crack, otherwise, very fine.

From the Rhenus Collection of Antoniniani, covering the period from the reign of Caracalla to that of Postumus.
The reverse legend should read LAETITIA AVGG, 'the joy of the two Augusti.' On our specimen, however, the die engraver used the wrong formula, LAETITIA AVG N, 'the joy of our Augustus.' Although grammatically correct in itself, the singular formula is inappropriate here, since there were two Augusti at the time; the intended legend was AVGG
