AKARNANIA. Metropolis. Circa 300-250 BC. Stater (Silver, 22 mm, 8.26 g, 11 h). Pegasos flying left; below, monogram of MH. Rev. Head of Athena to left, wearing Corinthian helmet; behind neck guard, monogram and round shield decorated with Athena standing right. BCD Acarnania 344. Calciati 1. Imhoof-Blumer, Akarnanien, 1. Very rare. Lightly toned and very well centered, an unusually attractive example of this difficult issue. Very light doubling, otherwise, about extremely fine.
