SYRTICA. Sabratha. Augustus, 27 BC-AD 14. 'Dupondius' (Bronze, 31 mm, 19.36 g, 6 h). SBRT'N - MN ŞY (in Neo-Punic) Laureate head of Baal-Melqart to right. Rev. CAESAR Bare head of Augustus to right; lituus before; all within laurel wreath. MAA 42a. RPC I 813. Rare. An excellent example of powerful style. Minor smoothing, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
