CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Uncertain tribe. Circa 60-30/25 BC. Quarter Stater (Gold, 12 mm, 1.43 g, 2 h), 'au petit serpent cornu' type. Devolved and disjointed laureate male head to right. Rev. Celticized horse to right, horseman devolved into serpent-like figure; to right, pellet in annulet; below, volute. DT 330-331. LT -. Scheers série 26a, fig. 182-183. Very rare and in exceptional condition for this intriguing issue. Perfectly centered and unusually complete, a splendid, superb piece. Extremely fine.
