CELTIC, Central Gaul. Aedui. Circa 80-50 BC. Stater (Electrum, 15 mm, 6.64 g, 8 h), 'Chenôves - au triskèle' type. Celticized male head to left with long curly hair. Rev. Celticized horse galloping to left, horseman transformed into figure with talon-like hands; below, triskeles ending in volutes. BN 3695. DT 3181. LT -. Very rare. A thick and unusually attractive piece and certainly among the finest known examples of this very difficult issue. Flan fault on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
